This past Labor Day weekend was Dragon Con! Yay! Wahoo! Happy fun times! And with my friends from across the country, who I don't get to see all that often, so that was awesome!
I arrived to downtown Atlanta Thursday evening, dropped my stuff off at the hotel, and headed down to the Sheraton to pick up my badge. Then I met up with my friends for dinner at Tin Lizzy's!

Friday officially started the Con and first up was Nathan Fillion! NATHAN FILLION!! How exciting! Captain Mal has finally come to Dragon Con! At least when I have also been there - I've been going to Dragon Con every year since 2012. It was awesome! HE is awesome! And so delightful :)

Saturday started with the Dragon Con Parade - although me and my friends usually skip it because there are way too many people that show up for that. I did watch it on TV though! The local CW station aired it. My first panel on Saturday was The Flash one. It was great! Danielle Panabaker, John Wesley Shipp, Michelle, Harrison, Katie Cassidy, and Rick Cosnett were there!

After that was our John Barrowman photo op! Yay, he's so fantastic! He had music jamming while taking his photos.

When we got done with that, we headed to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel with Mallory Jansen, Elizabeth Henstridge, Ming-Na Wen, and Brett Dalton! That was amazing! You can tell these people genuinely enjoy each other's company. I love it!

Saturday night we went to Dragon Con Night at the Georgia Aquarium. It was my first time going during the Con and it was so fun! There was a costume contest hosted by Clare Kramer and Michael Rosenbaum! And I had my Ursula-inspired look:

Sunday we started our day with the Buffy & Angel Guests panel that had Clare Kramer, Julie Benz, and Charisma Carpenter! That was fabulous and what made it even better was that Sunday was Clare's birthday too! It was also a guest who asked a question's birthday and he and Clare did birthday shots together! Even Charisma joined in the fun :)

Later on Sunday we went to the An Hour with Michael Rooker panel, where he ventured out to the audience to answer their questions! That was hilarious and awesome!

After that, we went to the Working with Disney panel which featured comic artists, producers, and voice actors: Scott Adsit (Baymax) and Tony Anselmo (Donal Duck)!

That night we went to the Yule Ball party and Hufflepuff won the House Cup! Yay, let's hear it for Hufflepuff!! 💛
The Con does continue and finish out on Monday but I was exhausted and headed back home.

This year was a great Con! I got to see my friends and go to some really awesome panels but I was missing my beloved Whedonverse Track. For the past 5 years that was our home base, our meeting grounds, the whole reason we all became friends. We love Joss Whedon and what he creates, so it was really disappointing when we heard last year that the Whedonverse would be no more, and our shows and movies would get split between the Urban Fantasy track, X track, Comics track, etc. The panels that featured Joss' creations were still fun but it wasn't the same.
All in all, I'm not sure I will go again next year. My son wants to go so I may take him for one day, a slower day like Friday or Sunday because Saturdays are just much too much but we'll see. Going for the whole 4 day weekend is a lot, and takes a lot out of you. "Con crud" is a real thing, which happens from hanging out with over 70,000+ Dragon Con goers. I'm just counting down the hours and minutes when I can get to Saturday and just rest and recover.
Check out some more pics I took over the weekend:
